23 years ago when we built our current home I bought Hubby a full Dewalt set of tools as pre-payment for his labour - He jokes this turns out to be 53cents an hour LOL. Now with the new homestead on the horizon, hubby invested in a new Milwaukie set - he's like a kid in a candy shop.

This morning’s project with @buddywhodoesstuff

We set out early to build a corduroy bridge across our brook so we could finally explore the other side of the property. Using trees right next to the site, the bridge came together in about 2.5 hours, a sturdy little passageway made from the land itself - and a bit of muscle from hubby.

By afternoon, we couldn’t resist crossing over to see what awaited us. We spent about an hour wandering and planning for walking and cycling trails winding through the woods, crop plots and wild rice patches, fruit tree groves bursting with potential, maple stands that promise sweet syrup in seasons to come and what the heck we'll do with no soil and thousands of boulders. Life is always a challenge.

We just opened a new chapter of the homestead, one log at a time. The bridge isn’t just wood laid across a brook, it’s our new gateway to future adventures, harvests, and trails waiting to be carved.
