GUTHRIE UPDATE: As we are all learning now, this looks like it was a major conspiracy (apparently one conspirator unalived themself tonight), and so my first question is... was this just for money? I'm starting to wonder again if maybe there was some kind of political motive to target a high profile media celebnty... Hoping we'll get some real information in the upcoming hours... Very scary. This is was not a normal crime at all. I can't believe the conspirators were just sitting in a house just miles away from where Nancy lived... so strange.

New idea: Looking over the images of the offender at the door..... his costume reminds me a LOT of Luigi Mangione. Mangione had an eleborate ideological / political motive. If this is a Mangione - style crime, what could the motive have been? Maybe a way to attack Savannah for some perceived political hypocrisy? Whatever the truth is behind this attack, it would be nice to get some answers soon...

NEW UPDATE: I'm kind of believing LE notices today that they don't have a suspect or person of interest. I have a lot of trouble believing that the son in law (an artist and school teacher) would commit such a bold and risky crime. While anything's possible at this point, my gut feeling is that Nancy is alive in Mexico. Organized crime in Mexico has a lot of money and resources, so - if it really was Mexican organized crime - I'd imagine they've made a doctor available to her and are keeping her more or less safe. Not that there's much of a bright side here, and I don't know that this is a Mexican crime, but I do get that feeling. Again, this type / style of abduction is very unusual in the U.S., whereas in Mexico & Latin America, this is a very normal type of crime. In the end, let's just hope for the best, and I do hope that Nancy is alive.

UPDATE: Looks like the police are looking at a family member (apparently Savannah's sister and/or brother in law).... So this may turn out to be an internal family crime. Whatever happened here, I just hope Nancy can come home soon.
