I was recently featured in an article in The Great Outdoors magazine, which covered some of Britainās āhappiestā walking routes. I spoke about the Affric Kintail Way, which has, in my opinion, some of the most beautiful and wild scenery in the Highlands. It was great to see images from my film featured in the article too! If youāve not watched my silent film of the walk, make yourself a cup of tea and relax for the next 22 minutes with it š
Iām almost done editing my most ambitious video yet. Filming kayaking trips is full of logistical issues but I was determined to shoot this one as itās a place thatās very special to me, and the entire trip was absolutely sublime. Iām extremely excited about releasing it this coming week and I hope that youāll all enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed making it š„°
A very happy new year to you all! May 2026 be a year of joy and adventure š„°
Iām currently preparing for my first big trip of the year! Conditions up at my destination are looking incredibly gorgeous (photo taken by āŖ@donnywilcoxā¬), and I just hope theyāll stay that way until I dip my paddle into those waters!
Suffice to say, Iāll have a new kayaking video up soon āŗļø
Finished up the year with a few nights in the Lake District. No cameras or anything, just me and my thoughts. Wishing everyone a happy whatever-you-celebrate (Christmas! Hanukkah! Kwanza!) and a wonderful year ahead in 2026 ššļø
Life circumstances are keeping me close to home at the moment, so this weekendās adventure was a wee jaunt in the Chilterns where I live. Video soon!
Can you believe it's December? What a year it's been!
Thanks so much to everyone who has tuned in to my wee adventure films in 2025. When I first decided to start doing these last summer, I was so shy about being in front of the camera, and I still am, but I am getting used to it!
As a mid 40s woman, I never really expected that many people would be interested in watching me, which is why I choose instead to focus primarily on the landscapes that I love, appearing just enough in frame to add that small human element that brings it all together.Ā
Spending time in the fresh air, disconnected from work, phones, social media, and everything else, is just my absolute favourite thing and I love being able to share that with others.
Learning how to shoot and edit video has been so much fun, and I still have so much to learn! Every single new film is another learning experience.
I can't wait to see where 2026 takes me, and I hope you'll all join me for the ride :)
A long weekend in the Lakes didnāt quite go according to plan. Icy conditions made filming difficult and now I have footage from two days of hiking but only from one night of camping š„
Hi all! I'm quite aware that the viewership for my channel is a bit split between the kayaking lovers and the hiking lovers, with not a lot of overlap! I am trying to cater to both!Ā
For me, sea kayaking is very much hiking on water, and I do hope that even if you're not a kayaker yourself, you can still enjoy seeing our beautiful landscapes from this unique perspective on the water. And for kayakers, perhaps you can enjoy some foot-based tranquility over a cuppa.Ā I am just as happy in the mountains as I am on the water.
Even though I'm rather shy and prefer to do non-narrative films, I have found the kayaking films tend to benefit from some additional information, which is why I've done voice-overs for some of them now, but I am unlikely to start doing this for my hiking videos. My adventures in my boots are entirely about atmosphere, nature and scenery :)Ā
This can be a bit confusing for Youtube's algorithm, as I have two distinct "formulas" that attract different audiences, but as a middle aged woman in a video genre full of attractive, energetic youngsters, I don't ever expect this channel to get very big anyway! Ha! Thanks for watching!
Like many others, I was out last weekend and experienced the incredible cloud inversion that happened in Eryri. Iām just putting the finishing touches on a short video of my trip, which will be uploaded later today. Hereās a photo of my Brocken spectre, so glad I finally had the chance to see one!
