“SIR is not to clean voter lists, but to delete voters.”
At a press conference in Bengaluru, Mansoor Ali Khan raised serious concerns about the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. He alleged that instead of cleaning voter rolls, the process is being misused to target specific sections of society.
Speaking alongside Abdul Wajid, he warned that Form 7 is reportedly being misused to delete names of Muslims, Dalits, migrant workers, women, and tribals from voter lists in several states. He urged citizens in Karnataka to stay alert, verify their documents, and ensure their names remain on the electoral rolls.
He also emphasized the need for widespread public awareness campaigns to prevent wrongful deletions and protect voting rights.
