Tech videos of course!

Not surprisingly, politicians are slow on the uptake again. Specifically in America, politicians are finally realising just how unfair it is for American citizens to pay more for their electricity bill because billion and trillion dollar companies are straining power grids to run their AI data centres. I covered this back in October, but it's actually a worldwide issue. Video is here: https://youtu.be/4SMAp0Vpu0k

Long but IMPORTANT post rant: my social media accounts, the direction of my channel, fighting big tech and informing the public of tech advice.

I've decided to slowly stop posting on social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Threads). I've always hated social media and only had those accounts because I have a YouTube channel to promote. However, if you look at my accounts the content simply SUCKS because I hate social media. In the coming days I plan to post a few more VERY important posts on those platforms before stopping to use them. I then plan to only use this platform for updates.

Between a full-time job, exercise, family time, downtime for myself (video games, manga, and WebToons), and running this channel I'm getting burnt out AGAIN. I've decided to go back to my roots of my YouTube channel: simple tech videos to help people. This means researching ongoing tech issues and tech privacy concerns and providing guidance on how to approach these issues. As someone who has worked and held various positions of leadership in corporate IT and cyber security, I want to provide my knowledge to the good folks around the world.

This means a shift away from reviewing audio gear, phones, media players, etc. Focus back on helping people with technology. I despise what the "top tech YouTubers" do, they're basically marketing mouth pieces for big tech and it's disgusting.

I'm currently wrapping up perhaps my longest video (27 minutes). It's a collection of 8 years of data of Meta (parent company of Instagram, Facebook, Threads and WhatsApp). It is an EVIL company and will be the key topics for some of my last posts on social media outside of YouTube. Everyone I know uses Meta services but it is shocking how evil they are, I implore you to be patient throughout the video and then inform those you care about to STOP USING META SERVICES.

Cheers,
Sukh

Thinking about buying a new car? That "premium" feature you want might be locked behind a subscription fee. You don't own your car, but you can CO-OWN it with the manufacturer: https://youtu.be/6ozRpUZUquM

Too many people backup important data in a single cloud provider assuming their data won't be purged (even from Google, Amazon AWS and Microsoft). Read up on how that's incorrect and steps to protect your data: bit.ly/3Jkmo6z

WhatsApp is basically spyware thanks to Meta, so instead consider Signal. Run by a non-profit and focused on open source privacy and security. Read more here: bit.ly/4mDrDwC
