Is Wanting to Improve Your Appearance Toxic?

As humans, we naturally strive to improve our quality of life by investing time and energy into important areas like health, finances, and relationships. These efforts are widely accepted because they help us experience life more positively.

Yet, for some reason, investing in our appearance remains a sensitive, often “taboo” topic. Which is surprising, as the science is clear on the subject: more attractive and healthy-looking people receive massive benefits in life:

- Have an easier time finding jobs and earn more
- Find it easier to find romantic partners and have higher relationship satisfaction
- Are initially perceived as more competent, trustworthy, and likable
- Have higher self-esteem and are less likely to suffer from depression
- Have more fulfilling social lives
- Get away with more when violating norms or even the law

Obviously, this doesn’t mean that being attractive guarantees all the above, but all those differences compounded over years make attractiveness one of the biggest factors impacting one’s quality of life.

There are many ways to improve someone’s attractiveness significantly (WITHOUT any surgeries).

We believe committing to improve your appearance is not toxic. This is not about becoming insecure, obsessed, or trying to become someone else. It is about taking care of yourself and maximizing your quality of life. There is nothing toxic about that.

While some people will refuse to believe 50 years of scientific evidence and label it “toxic,” at Qoves, we simply understand the benefits of investing in your appearance and becoming the best-looking and healthiest version of yourself.

Changes to QOVES (for 2023) - Free Aesthetics Reports, IRL Studio Content... +

Images:
1. New QOVES Studio (TBC) 2. Reports written completely by A.I. systems (For Free) 3. IRL Content from experts (TBC) 4. Behind the scenes tutorials and insights.

\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\

QOVES has come a long way from when I started this in 2020 with a small team of 1. For 2023, we're continously working to provide fresh new content. Now is the time to tell us where you would like this channel to go and how you can implement what you want to see more of:

- IRL content in our studio (interviewing doctors, glow up tips from models, experiences of beauty and not beauty privilege...) like GQ or Vogue but more focused on practical science than wishy washy things.

- Recreating aesthetics research papers (in a psuedo controlled setting) using real participants

- New hosts and personalities on the channel each from a different background and speciality.

- More transparency at QOVES

For the first time in three years, here is my personal instagram:
(now on public): www.instagram.com/shvfee/?hl=en (BTS content)
@qovesstudio for Aesthetics content

As we introduce new hosts you, the audience, will be given a greater chance to connect and get help from them.

From a business side of things, the number one most searched qoves term is "free aesthetics report." I hear you, we're finalizing a free tier of report and assessment that uses a lot of different Machine Learning algorithms we've made over the years to provide aesthetics feedback... again for free in a dynamically made report format.

The goal is to give people who cannot get access, aesthetics help. Things like finding a suitable hairstyle based on face shape, how colouring affects your clothes, skin issue detection, facial measurements etc...

There will also be larger backend changes like remaking our website and report ordering process to ask more questions and be more involved, building a directory of approved doctors, unbiased product recommendations and reviews (unsponsored), revising our reports and services to include more value for less and overall making QOVES a well oiled machine.

\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\

In building qoves, I've learnt a lot of things that aren't taught on youtube and I had to find out for myself. I plan to launch a second personal channel that covers the behind the scenes of creating and running a successful business from webdesign, to how we edit our videos, write AI algorithms, market and manage staff and hiring. I.e. skill that actually make money rather than the A-Z of the topic itself. If this is something that would interest the budding entrepreneurs and designers amongst you to learn, let me know below.

QOVES Beauty Podcast Ep. 30 - Why are the Dutch the Tallest People in the World?

www.patreon.com/posts/qoves-beauty-ep-73967079

For decades, the Dutch have been the tallest people in world. However, this is only a recent phenomenon and has not always been the case, puzzling demographers and evolutionary scientists for many years. Stulp et al., in 2017 wrote a controversial paper attributing their rapid height increase to evolutionary selection pressures, specifically sexual selection. We discuss the validity of this theory and why height population distributions, like attractiveness, fall into a 'bell curve', or normal distribution

A quick update on Skinstric:

Tldr; Skinstric is our second company, a project we've worked on for 3 years to make skincare using A.I.
We're delaying launch to December instead of November to get more user testing and feedback done.

If you would like to volunteer to be a tester you can signup at skinstric.com or email us at jobs@qoves.com (preference for Australia due to shipping). We've been emailing users from the list randomly to get their interest and make a custom sample for them.

QOVES Beauty Podcast Ep. 29 - Aesthetic Advice from the Past | Male Fashion

www.patreon.com/posts/qoves-beauty-ep-72865892

Aesthetic Advice from the Past: In this episode, we build on a recent video and look to the past to consider our forebears' general advice on aesthetics and advice. We consider how and why it has changed in the last 100-150 years and why you should consider following some (but not all) of their advice.
