Just a quick note to say THANK YOU for all the lovely messages of support yesterday! Really meant a lot.

Been a tough year with the channel, I’ve never worked harder on it and yet never had less to show for it financially which is very disheartening, and been seriously let down by some people along the way (don’t worry, no one you know, this isn’t some cryptic gossip 😉).

Seeing all of those supportive messages meant so much, truly appreciate it!!

And yep, heard you loud and clear, I’m turning the mid roll ads on 👍

Let’s see what the algorithm does.

WHAT’S COMING NEXT + SMALL CHANGES ON THE CHANNEL

🇨🇭 Currently working on the SWITZERLAND series that’ll be out at the end of the month.

🥾 It’ll be a 2 part series, first episode I take Jaime and some of our friends on my favourite hikes in the Jungfrau region.

⛰️ 2nd episode I’m travelling solo, heading to a few places in Switzerland I’ve never been to before.

MID-ROLL ADS 💵

As you may know I don’t have mid-roll ads in my documentaries, as I feel it disrupts the flow of the film.

Unfortunately by not having them on 1) I make less money and 2) I don’t think the algorithm favours me since YouTube is making less from my videos.

So what I’m gonna do from now on is:

- when a series is first released I won’t have them turned on
- once the last episode of the series is out, I’ll wait a week (as I know some people like to binge watch them once they’re all out) and then after the first week of them all being released, I’ll turn the mid roll ads on
- that means you get a chance to watch them uninterrupted and then after that I get to make some money!

I’ve been working on the channel full time for over a year now, and honestly the income has been pitiful.

I could go on a massive rant about this, but I won’t because it would be unprofessional, but I’ll just say that a good portion of this is down to people I’ve hired to bring in revenue for the channel massively failing at their one job.

I’m now having to downsize some of my travel plans for 2026 because of this, and am looking for freelance video editing work again to plug the holes in my finances.

So for the Canada series, I’ll activate the mid-roll ads on Monday, so you’ve got this weekend to watch them without the ads if you prefer.

And the new Dolomites film they’ll be activated at the end of the week.

BTW it’s SO fun seeing the Winter Olympics start and trying to recognise the places I hiked in the video! 🙂

NEXT TRIPS ✈️

I’ll be going away in March for the month and filming 2 trips back to back:

🇯🇵 2 weeks in Japan with Jaime.

One of my favourite countries!! I’ll be revisiting some places I went back in 2018, but over half the trip will be in new places, plus in terms of the actual activities, over 95% of it will all be new stuff

🇮🇩 2 weeks in Indonesia with my mate Luke

Backpacking from Jakarta to Komodo, but not spending any time in Bali. Gonna cram a lot into these 2 weeks and it’s gonne be so much fun.

Merry Christmas everyone! 🎄🎅🎁🥂

Sorry it’s been a bit quiet on here, I’ve had a manic month visiting friends and family back in the UK, editing the Canada series and shooting a last minute bonus film in The Dolomites!

Films will be coming out thick and fast in the New Year though. Going to release 2 Canada episodes a week to try and give the algorithm a kick up the ass!

Canada Coast to Coast:

Jan 16th - Ep 1 - The Maritimes
Jan 20th - Ep2 - Quebec & Ontario
Jan 23rd - Ep3 - The Prairies
Jan 27th - Ep4 - The Rockies & Vancouver

Then on Feb 2nd I’ll be releasing the film from Italy, which was a long weekend spent at the site of the upcoming Winter Olympics, Milan and Cortina up in The Dolomites.

February I’ll (finally!) be editing the Switzerland series from the summer, that will come out at the end of the month and into March. Will be 2 episodes.

Then there’ll be a gap in uploads as I’ll be filming 3 trips back to back, starting at the beginning of March. Trying to reduce the amount of back and forth travel I do which will also give me more time at home.

So I’ll be spending 2 weeks in Japan with Jaime, 2 weeks in Indonesia with Luke, and 2 weeks in another country with James.

Anyone wanna guess where!?
