Ride 0n

2025 has been a rough year for the channel. I had a HUGE ride planned for the summer, which I had to cancel due to health issues. Thankfully, I'm better now. And as the year draws to a close, I have a shorter ride planned for the beginning of the year, which is looking very likely to be cancelled due to weather.

Weather complications are by no means unusual, especially this time of year. Have you ever had to cancel a multi day ride you were really looking forward to? And if so, comment below if you were able to do that ride later or not.

As this channel nears its three year anniversary, I'm both reminded and thankful of all the support from you. It would sound patronizing if I were to say you folks are the best viewers on all of YouTube, but you folks do rock. šŸ¤˜šŸ˜†šŸ¤˜

FWIW, my beard is not long currently, so I should not be compared to the person depicted in this image, despite the red cap I am wearing. Any disparaging remarks may result in your name mysteriously appearing, possibly through a computer security breach, on a particular "naughty" list. But that would be a total coincidence, of course. Correlation is not causation. šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø

May your holidays be happy ones, especially if you're not able to ride during them. šŸŽ„

The last three videos covered a ride through Central California, including stops in the Earthquake center of Parkfield, the Solvang Vintage Motorcycle Museum and a slew of wonderful roads including Paso Robles Wine Country.

Did you watch the videos? If you'd be willing to spend a moment to provide some detail on your answer, any constructive feedback you would be willing to add below would be appreciated.

In my latest video, which started with a ride on Hwy 33, I passed through some tunnels. The first two were very close together with only a short break between them.

It's at this spot in the video:

What's your opinion? Is it one tunnel, or two?

What is one thing you always pack on an overnight ride?

We have still yet to reach the first big milestone, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Oh wait... is that an oncoming train? Sshhh... lemme listen... Hmmm. Whew!

If you haven't subscribed or know someone that loves motorcycle touring and might not know about the channel, I'd appreciate the shout out. Building a YouTube channel is a lot of work and for this "niche", it's more difficult than many.

If you are a regular viewer, I'd like to extend my personal thanks and gratitude for your support. It means a lot to me that people are interested in what I make. The next several months will be difficult as I've been fighting some nasty back pain, which is keeping me off the bike, but I have a little backlog I can work through. I think my back may be turning the corner, so hopefully in a month or so, I'll be able to do some rides I have in mind and share them with you.

Thanks again for your support. You rock.

There won't be a video this week, I've got a lot going on that's keeping me pretty busy. I should have something for you next week.

For now, I can give you with a couple throwbacks. The first is the oldest picture I have of me on a motorcycle. It is from 1991 or 1992 on my 1981 Suzuki GS650GZ, which had a shaft drive. I'd just arrived at work and a coworker took this picture of me. The other is from 2007 on a group ride. I'm on the Harley in front.

Ride 0n

This channel went live 2 years ago this week. There have been many ups and downs in that time, but it sure has been an interesting journey. If you're a subscriber or viewer, thanks for coming along for the ride.

I'd do a video to talk about what's coming up this year, but I don't want to interrupt the Run For The Hills series.

So what is up with ‪@Ride_0n‬ this year? Much is still up in the air, but for sure you can count on
- Completion of the Run For The Hills Series
- A 3 part series in NE Cal.

I'm putting together plans for a big trip, but I'm not sure of the timeframe. I'll leave details on that until later, but it will be the longest trip I've done in a long time. Some things just take longer to do. More miles of riding. Sounds good to me!

Thanks again for your support.
