Welcome to Peaceful moments for Parents. This channel has evolved to serve Christian parents whose teenage or adult children have chosen ways far from Jesus through unbelief, addiction, destructive relationships, or life choices that cause deep concern and heartbreak for the parent.
If you are:
- Praying for a child who has walked away from faith
- Carrying guilt over “what you could have done differently”
- Struggling with anxiety, grief, or quiet shame
- Longing for peace while you wait on God
You are welcome here.
Together, we will learn how to:
- Let go of what was never ours to carry
- Stand firm in faith without striving
- Pray with hope instead of fear
- Trust God with what we cannot control
🌾 Your child’s story is not over. God is still at work. And you are allowed to rest.

Why Do We Need Salvation?
Scripture: Romans 3:9-20
If someone asked you, “Why do I need to be saved?” how would you answer? Many people think that if they try to be a good person, God will accept them. Others assume that salvation is only for people who have committed serious crimes or have lived a life of rebellion. But Romans 3:9-20 paints a different picture—one that includes all of us.
The Reality of Sin
Paul writes in Romans 3:10, “There is no one righteous, not even one.” That’s a bold statement. Surely, there must be some good people in the world, right? The problem is that our definition of “good” is often based on comparison. We look at others and think, at least I’m not as bad as them. But God’s standard of righteousness is not measured against other people, it is measured against His own perfect holiness.
Romans 3:23 sums it up plainly: “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” No matter how moral, kind, or religious we try to be, sin has corrupted every human heart.
The Consequence of Sin
Sin is more than just making mistakes; it is a deep-rooted condition that separates us from God. Romans 3:19 explains that the law (God’s commandments in the old testament) makes us aware of our sin, leaving us without excuse. The law is like a mirror—it shows us our flaws, but it can’t fix them.
This separation from God is not just a temporary problem, it has eternal consequences. Later in Romans, Paul states, “The wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). This means that sin leads to spiritual death and eternal separation from God. We cannot save ourselves by good works, religious rituals, or self-improvement.
The Hope of Salvation
If Romans 3 ended with verse 20, we would have no hope. But the good news is that God didn’t leave us in our sinful condition. The very next verses introduce the answer: “But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known… This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe” (Romans 3:21-22).
Salvation is not something we earn—it is a gift of grace through faith in Jesus Christ. God, in His love, provided a way for sinners to be made right with Him, not by our own efforts but through the sacrifice of His Son.
What This Means for us?
Understanding our need for salvation is the first step to truly appreciating what Christ has done. If we don’t see ourselves as sinners, we won’t see our need for a Savior. But when we recognize our brokenness, we are in the perfect position to receive God’s grace.
Take a moment to reflect:
• Do you view sin as something serious, or do you minimize it?
• Have you been relying on your own goodness to be right with God?
• Are you ready to accept the righteousness that comes through faith in Jesus?
In the next post, we’ll explore “How are we made right with God”? (Romans 3:21-31)
Stay blessed.
