RESOLUTIONS, NEW YEAR NEW YOU!!
How many of you have been flooded with Resolution and Diet posts already today?!

I don’t like Resolutions and New Year New You Diet posts they all focus and put us in a negative failure mindset. I failed at my diet while enjoying the holiday and gained weight, or I’m not doing well in this area I need to set a resolution to fix that! Then if you miss it , don’t resolve the thing or the scale goes the wrong way, your failure can be front and center, well no thank you!

Intentions that focus on positive change that can get you to a long term goal like I want to make healthy food choices, which could lead to weight loss but even if it doesn’t you are healthier for it. You’re not yelling at a scale or eating the emotions it causes when it isn’t showing you what you want to see, or feeling all the negative emotions or feelings of failure over whatever the thing is you were trying to resolve. Focusing on positive intentions are so much better IMO because you focused on the positive impact you are achieving, even if you aren’t at your “goal” yet you can still see the positive impact you are making. Be it goal weight, or improved ability in something (like art for example), or whatever you are focusing on for this year.

I like to set a word that signifies my intention as I move into the new year. One word that can help keep me focused on my intentions and moving in a positive direction. This year I think “Connections” is definitely my word of the year. It fits everything, my connection with healthy food choices, my connection with what I want to keep and get rid of in my space (home and studio), my connections with what I choose to create and create with, and my connections with friends and family for a happy 2026! It just fits my mindset going into this year, I am focusing on my connections for positive change this year. I want to feel better as each month whizzes by and at the end be able to look back with lots of fond memories of all the wonderful things 2026 brought with it.

‪@SarahRenaeClark‬ has outdone herself with the upgrades. I have the originals and can’t wait to get my hands on the new set, I don’t have them yet. The organization and thought that went into this upgrade, with 600 new palettes, 1000 palettes in all is amazing. Whether you like to see them as digital cards you can access anywhere or like physical cards to pull out in your art space, or like me would utilize both, there are options for that!
What do you like to use color palettes for? These are such an amazing reference tool for artists and the companion that is coming in December is mind blowing.
