A new drone video is dropping about now. Flying around, up in the island's highlands. Putting the DJI MINI 4k through it's paces. This drone was rated 2025's best budget drone and you can see why, especially with the exceptional quality of the 4k videos, recorded at 30fps. Check it out!
To keep you interested (and also just for fun!), see if you can find the following:
A massive bird in mid-flight
A tree that looks like it has a monkey's head
A huge landslide (see the trees at the bottom of the slope)
A rest house for the pig hunters to hide out in when they are hunting the wild pigs that roam the highlands
Me, just standing, minding my own business
A massive tree, dwarfing everything
A bridge over a river
And finally a centipede walking on the controller!
I'm sure there are lots of other things that i missed, be sure to mention them in the comments!

Daniela & Caroline (Thomas's Cousin), have been away to Savusavu overnight. They made a special road trip to see our Fijian friend, Olivia, in Nagigi Village. We first met Olivia back in 2012 and Daniela visits when she can. On this visit they looked at some old photos and had a good natter.
Along the Savusavu to Nagigi corridor, Daniela administered some medications, and food, to various stray dogs - including the treatment of mange.
A little bit of kindness in the world can go a long way.

Ever wondered what there is to do on Taveuni as a tourist? Bouma National Heritage Park surrounds Tavoro Waterfalls and was voted the #1 attraction. Tourists have been enjoying treks to these majestic falls for over 50 years. See the full trek, compressed into a little over 8 minutes, by clicking the attached link.
The current entry fee is (as of May 1st 2025): Tourist = $35, Local = $25 (all prices are in Fijian Dollars).

Bula,
Just a quick update, as i know 2025 has been very slow on the video front - no long form at all π
Well, all Thomas's "tech" has died this year! One after another! Laptop, followed by Action camera and finally his phone (which he films on mostly). Now, normally this wouldn't be an issue back in the UK or even in one of the main cities of Fiji (Suva or Nadi). But out on the outer islands, tech is limited, poor quality and extortionately priced......
Not all is lost. April is a month for visitors for us. Starting with Thomas's son tomorrow and his cousin Caroline in a few weeks. Conditions of accommodation and personal tour guiding, was come laden with tech and other essentials!
Hopefully, we will get a long form video of the bedroom renovation and roof deck construction out before the end of the month (although some content lost as not backed up π, school boy error!).
Hope everybody is well, please drop by to say hi ππ»
Vinaka for now π

A very exciting day tomorrow - we collect our latest rescue dog from the airport! Harmonia was Animal Fiji's (www.animalsfiji.org) longest resident at over 750 days in kennels at the Nadi shelter. Tomorrow she will start her new life with us and the rest of the pack, we are so excited and really hope she can settle into her furever home here on the Garden Island of Fiji β€οΈ

So we have been quiet for the last few weeks, unfortunately this was due to Thomas having a fall and chipping / fracturing his elbow πͺ Just over 2 weeks into the recovery now, but everything came grinding to a halt - full mobility has returned and i'll be back fighting fit in another few weeks. X-ray attached π«£
