Virat Kohli has moved to the top of the ICC Men’s ODI Batting Rankings for the first time since July 2021, replacing Rohit Sharma following a match-winning 93 off 91 balls against New Zealand in Vadodara.
Kohli has claimed the top spot for the 11th time in his career, riding on a run of five consecutive 50+ scores: 74* vs Australia; 135, 102 and 65 against South Africa.
The former India captain first reached the summit of the ODI batting rankings in October 2013 and has now spent a total of 825 days at No. 1, which is the most by an India batter.
A day after 🇩🇰 Mia Blichfeldt criticised practice conditions in New Delhi for the 🇮🇳 India Open Super 750 badminton 🏸 tournament, her compatriot Anders Antonsen shared his reasons for pulling out of the event completely.
“Many is (sic) curious to why I have pulled out of the India Open for the third consecutive year. Due to the extreme pollution in Delhi at the moment I don’t think it’s a place to host a badminton tournament,” Antonsen wrote on Instagram.
Antonsen also shared a screenshot of the air quality in Delhi on the Instagram story, which showed AQI to be 348 and described conditions as hazardous.
