DECAMILLIS BACK TO THE NFL: South Carolina Associate Head Coach and Special Teams Coordinator Joe DeCamillis is returning to the NFL per multiple reports. DeCamillis will reunite with Klint Kubiak, the son of former Denver Broncos coach and quarterback Gary Kubiak. DeCamillis won Super Bowl 50 as an assistant under the elder Kubiak, who played quarterback for the late Dan Reeves with the Broncos from 1983-91, during the 2015 season and has coached with Klint before. DeCamillis just completed his second season at South Carolina.

We lost former Gamecock Football head coach Joe Morrison 37 years ago today. Morrison laid the foundation for the version of Carolina Football we all know and love today... best season in program history at the time in 1984, coached all-time greats like Sterling Sharpe, Todd Ellis, Robert Brooks, Harold Green, Brad Edwards, Corey Miller and more... also, he and Tommy Suggs started the 2001 tradition in 1983, his first season.


Morrison was 39-28-2 in six seasons as the Gamecocks head coach. He passed away from a heart attack tragically on Feb. 5, 1989.

TENNESSEE TALENT: South Carolina landed three players from the transfer portal that hail from the Volunteer State- all from the Nashville area, which is by all accounts an emerging area for big time football talent given the growth in the region. These additions give Carolina four total from the Volunteer State on the 2026 roster as far as scholarship players are concerned. The Gamecocks have had a smattering of Tennessee players through the years, but this is one of the larger representations on the roster in recent memory.
