Samantha R. Crossland is a fashion designer, YouTuber, and alum of Project Runway Season 16. Her channel Cinemattire, a YouTube series that analyzes film and TV costumes through a worldbuilding lens, exploring how clothing is used to enforce power, shape culture, and build fictional worlds.
Samantha began her career in 2000 with one of the first American Lolita fashion labels before launching her namesake brand “Samantha Rei,” celebrated for its romantic, historically influenced aesthetic. Her work has appeared in Vogue UK, Glamour UK, and Huffington Post, and she is the author of Steampunk & Cosplay Fashion Design and Illustration.
She continues to design, speak, and explore the cultural impact of costume both on screen and in real life.
