Kids heal, robots don't.

*Fix it 'til it's broke, or break it trying*

'Ope, that's a loose wire.'

After alliance selection, we ended up 8th seed captain. We picked 21618 Circuit Breakers 4-H Robotics due to their teleop sample capability.

Going into finals, we showed solid form with both our autonomous and teleop specimens. Unfortunately, we were just shy of perfect form and were eliminated after three hard-fought matches.

While we didn't win any awards, we thank every one of our supporters for making the journey to join us and making this Premier Event an unforgettable experience.

A big thank you also to the teams who signed our robot and our sponsors for making this season possible.

Until next time πŸŸ©β¬›οΈπŸ«‘

bzBots had a much better time in the second day of qualification matches, moving up 7 places in rankings.

On to alliance selection.

A bit of a disappointing day today, but we are ready to bounce back tomorrow. We won 3 matches and lost 4. These losses only taught us some lessons and helped us iron out the final wrinkles.

We had a severe frame failure that caused our gearbox to essentially collapse into the robot in our match just before lunch. Thankfully, our robot is designed to be very repairable, and we were able to rebuild the bot over lunch.

We looked stronger in the last couple of matches but were unfortunately just short of victory. We look forward to the last few matches tomorrow and will come back stronger.

Matches begin shortly after opening ceremony!

A huge thank you to team #8645 Robotic Doges for allowing us to use the power in their hotel in a last-minute, late night 3d print last night, despite us never meeting before yesterday.

Photo: bzBots and Robotic Doges practice late into the night in a hotel with no power. Despite the difficulties, both teams were able to test and repair their robots and have fun doing so.

We are excited to compete against representatives from so many different countries: United States, Brazil, Moldova, Romania, Kazakhstan, China, Vietnam, and a team from Puerto Rico. See you on the field!

What a weekend, what an experience! We performed well during qualifications and managed to come out undefeated and ranked #1 in Gold Division after qualifying matches when one of our opponents experienced a very unfortunate shock-out in Q51.

Alliance selection was difficult, as we weren't really expecting to be first alliance captain. After being rejected twice, we had to take a calculated risk and select a specimen-only team to avoid getting beaten in division finals by the two teams that had set the world record earlier that day. We were a little out of practice with samples but were almost on pace with the best teams (at least in driver controlled). We quickly made a one-sample auto in about 15 minutes, which was nothing compared to the 8-sample autonomous of Lion Robotics Gold that we would face.

This was just enough to bring us to Division finals, but Β @lionrobotics21311Β  and Aztechs #18397 were too well-paired, and they went on to win Grand Finals.

Congratulations to 21311 Lion Robotics Gold, 18497 Aztechs, 10435 Circuit Breakers, and 16367 Atomic Narwhals on advancing to worlds!

Even though we won't be in Houston, we were invited to one of the first ever Premier Events and are excited for the opportunity to continue competing. We have big plans for improvement, so stay tuned!

Had a fun but tiring first day of competition here at the Iowa Championship. Judging went well, and we got to meet a lot of teams.

We won our match tonight, hitting our first 5-specimen autonomous in competition. Unfortunately, we weren't at 100% capacity due to a claw breakage. Thankfully, it was an easy fix.

Per bzBots tradition, we went for sushi after the events.

We look forward to competition tomorrow. See you on the field! πŸŸ©β¬›
