As It Was – Coptic History
"Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on... that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them.” (Revelation 14:13)
This year, as we celebrate the Coptic New Year and the Feast of the Martyrs, we also mourn the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Though I did not always agree with his political views, I respected his courage, outspokenness, and commitment to dialogue. Many young converts to Orthodoxy have told me how his words first stirred their conscience, long before they knew of the Orthodox Church. His death — violent, public, and senseless — bears the sorrowful likeness of martyrdom.
May the Lord grant him rest in the paradise of joy, console his family with the hope of the Resurrection, and put an end to political violence in our land.

Congratulations to our Roman Catholic brothers and sisters on the election of the new Roman Pontiff, Pope Leo XIV. May the Lord grant him grace and wisdom to shepherd His flock in peace, give him strength to bear the weight of his sacred calling, and use his ministry as a bridge toward the reconciliation of the Apostolic Churches in the bond of Truth.
