Bad Company Fishing Adventures

Join the Bad Company team on multi year adventure that covers most of the globe. Strategically located with 3 support vessels and 8 game boats. Targeting trophy Blue Marlin in all 3 oceans, Black Marlin in 2 and Surface Swords anywhere we can find them to pitch a live bait to.

BCS 150’ currently operates in the Atlantic along with the 57’ Spencer and 33’ L&H. The teams new 175’ Damen will join the team in the Indian Ocean next year with 43’ Release. We will update and share our travels and adventures here on our youtube channel for others to enjoy. Please encourage our team as we log tens of thousands of miles on the ocean and hundreds of thousands miles in the air.

“All the credit for this operation goes to the world class crew that is relentlessly focused on the execution at a grand scale.
I would also like to thank the legends in our sport, the motherships that went out and explored and innovated so that we can be inspired to do this today.”

Ordering 1000 of these shirts to giveaway if we are able to put together a dock party. Shooting for weekend of Feb 28 but could be the following weekend. BCS175 coming to USA 🇺🇸 for the first time on the 21st, she has a long list of work to do before we can hold the party and do the photoshoot of 9 BadCo boats, including the new owners of BC33LH @seatoescharters. The thought of 9 BadCo boats running with the chopper above would be an epic event to turn the page on the new chapter of the world tour. Many of BadCo alumni and current team members will be there. Stay tuned, will update as we know how things are progressing and RSVP details. Most likely LMC and not Pier 66. Will also supply drinks plus the swag as our gift to the community.

Shirt design is version one. Need more work on shade, adding the jet and Marlin details.

Bad Company Fishing Adventures

My DM lit up with images from followers last couple of days. BadCo 50 came in on Friday and BCS150 came in Thursday. I am still in awe of how the 50 came out from a 1 of 1 creation. She rides as good as she looks. We wanted a pure performance boat with the good looks of a true race car with matching functionality and performance. The best way for me to describe her is… a magic carpet ride. Soft, smooth, and surprisingly quiet even with her Carbon Fiber build. Stunning quickness and instant throttle response from her best in class displacement.

BCS175/43 is days away from Lauderdale. ETA 21st after a 4000NM move from Brazil.

Blackfin 32 Young guns is loading on truck on Monday, ETA a week later to Lauderdale.

BC46 Ricky Scarborough ex Tarhell here in Lauderdale until April when she ships to Kona Hawaii.

Working out logistics for either a dock party (ordering 1000 BadCo shirts to give away to the community), or a photo shoot, or both if time and logistically possible. A photo shoot cementing the re-start of the world tour with 32, 38, 43, 46, 50, 144, 150, 175 with the chopper flying will be pretty darn epic. Some of you may remember the dock party on the 150 in May 2022 kicking off the world tour. Hope to do it again with all 3 tied up together 144/150/175.

Will update and keep all posted if we are able to put an event together for the community.

A significant chapter turns in the world tour. The loyal BCS150 is now home in Florida. She has crossed the Atlantic 4 times. She has also crossed the equator 6 times. Logged over 50,000 miles, saw Ascension twice, Azores 3, Abidjan 2, Brazil 1, Cape Verde 4, Madeira 3, Canary 4, Holland, Med, etc… She carried BC33LH 2022-2024, BC38 Viking 2024-2025 and supported BC57 Spencer in the North Atlantic. I’ve personally spent over 350 evenings on her, with amazing dinners and memories each night. The world tour now takes on a different tone with BCS175 plans to round the globe, carrying BadCo 50 Croswait and BC32 young guns.

I am certain she will serve the next owner as loyal as she did for us. Someone will be lucky to have her.

A special update. 1987 Blackfin 32. My first twin diesel boat that I purchased back 30 years apart, after 3 painstaking years of a complete rebuild from a termite infested state. She will be trucked to Fort Lauderdale next week to meet BCS175 and to travel the world with BC50 Croswait. She will sit to port while the 50 is on starboard. The Blackfin will be used for inshore or offshore, as a back up to the 50, and as a water taxi bringing passengers and crew to and from mothership. The 32 spent many years in Cabo San Lucas. There is a lot of emotions and memories when the 32 and the 50 is loaded on deck of BCS175.

The only constant is change! The lifting frames made out of Carbon fiber to lift the 50 was delayed, thus won’t make it to Puerto Rico in time. Apologies to our friends in Puerto Rico, but we must apply plan B. BCS175 now coming to Fort Lauderdale, although an extra 2000nm run, here are the advantages.

Lifting box frame will be in Florida
50 avoids the run to PR
43 avoids the run back to SoFlo
Parts and equipment from BCS150 will be easily moved to 175.
Less travel for the team
World class facilities
Potential side by side of the 150/175 for a dock party.

Apologies again to our friends and fans in Puerto Rico.

Will be pretty exciting to have the 175 at home. Never scheduled or planned but here we go.

Photo op for the 144, 150, 175, 43, 46, and 50. That could be a sick shot.

144 feet in motion. BC144 Trinity powered by 16V4000 3600HP x 2 pushing her to 30 knots. She was heavily used until the start of the world tour, been both Pacific and Atlantic on multiple canal crossings. Served as mothership and caught Billfish on her own bottom. For the last few years, been pretty quiet for her doing a few short Caribbean trips a year and living in south Florida.

Bad Company Fishing Adventures

One of the original BadCo boats from the 90’s. 40 foot Blackwatch, one of if not the best rough water riding hulls ever made in the 40 foot range. Notice her custom hardtop that I designed and the late Steve Degrot form C Fab built, a half tower with no visual obstructions forward of the helm seats. Bow rails, bow and cockpit bait tanks, raised rigger for easy bow access, and many other innovative ideas for this era. A few owners later, the boat is for sale today in Kona as a charter boat. @beastmodesportfishing. She is still fishing and working hard.

A ramble, a photo dump, a BadCo update for those that have been asking. Much in transition. The only constant is change - Steve Lassley.

BCS150 carrying BC38 Billfish is crossing the Atlantic back to Florida, both are listed for sale. The 150 did amazing for us for 3.5 years, the 175 status was unknown due to all the design and build problems. The southern hemisphere was fished by BC33LH for 2 seasons, we wanted more boat under us and replaced it with BC38 Billfish, while BC57 Spencer covered the North Atlantic. If the 175 continued to have challenges, the Billfish 38 would have served us well for the South. Now the 175 is finally ready (we hope), the 150 and Billfish 38 is no longer needed and thus coming up on the market for sale. Both are best in class and should serve the next owners very well.

BC43 Release is not for sale. With the major hull problems and repairs, I am not comfortable selling this boat to the next owner. She will be cleaned up and will be used locally in SoFlo.

BCS175 just fueled up in Brazil. She will be making the long trek to Puerto Rico. Brazil is a very difficult country to visit. I love Brazil. It’s just a tough place to get in/out with procedures, officials, and costs. Someday I’ll need to write a book sharing all the behind the scenes stuff.
BadCo 50 Croswait. After the Nov 22 photo shoot with Bugatti. She went back to Wanchese to finalized the lifting engineering. Weather permitting, she will be leaving Monday morning, making a stop in Morehead for those that want to have a peak at her. Then stopping in Lauderdale to do a quick photo shoot with the Ricky boat (Tarheel) before completing 1600nm run to Puerto Rico to pair up with the 175 finally. The lifting for the first time is nerve wracking for us all.

BC46Ricky will be shipped to Kona Hawaii in April. Currently at Pier 66.

Galapagos approval in process, but delayed. Could put Easter Island trip in April at risk. A bit uncertain as of now for leg 18 and 19.

@espne60 ready to go for leg 18. Full feature film July broadcast.

Grander chair #3 by @paulscopinich finished.
