Security footage showed her leaving Select Start, a bar in the 2800 block of Elm Street, with a man. She didn’t return to her friend’s home and missed her flight back to Seattle, and there was no activity on her cellphone, social-media accounts or bank account after that day. Police identified Beltran as a person of interest in the case in late October and said that he and his car hadn’t been seen since that night. cellphone records from the day Botello disappeared placed her with Charles Beltran, Lisa Dykes and Nina Marano at a Mesquite home that Beltran and Dykes shared. Phone records also showed Dykes and Marano leaving the home that day, going to a wooded area near Hutchins that was close to several bodies of water and returning to the home, police said. When authorities searched the home, they found that the carpet had been cleaned. Red and brown streaks beneath the carpet that appeared to be blood were later determined to match Botello’s DNA, the affidavit says.
