In this video, I built a Smart Automatic Trash Can using Arduino, but with a unique twist ā
instead of a normal lid, I have used a 3D Printed Iris Mechanism that opens and closes automatically!
The ultrasonic sensor detects your hand, and the servo motor rotates the iris blades smoothly to open the trash can. After a few seconds, it closes automatically.
This gives the project a premium & futuristic look, just like sci-fi gadgets.

1. Ultrasonic sensor detects motion (hand).
2. Arduino triggers the servo to rotate the iris opening mechanism.
3. Iris opens smoothly like a camera aperture.
4. After 2ā3 seconds it closes automatically.
