you'll need:
1½ kg prawns
3 tbps oil / ghee
8-10 onions
10-15 cashew nuts
4 tbps red chilli powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
3 tbsp garlic paste
1 tsp ginger paste
1 cup curd / dahi
4 cups Rice
2 tsp Shah jeera
1 bay leaf
½ cinnamon stick
3-4 cloves
4-5 cardamom
Salt to taste
Food color (optional)
for Garnish: Pudina, caramelized onions and coriander
Procedure:
-Fry Chopped Onions until golden brown
Blend the onions and cashew nuts
-In a pan, add prawns and lemon juice
Cook for 15min until the water separates from oil.
The add ginger garlic paste ,chilli powder, turmeric powder
-Cook for 10 mins and add curd
Add salt to taste
-Then add blended onions and cashew paste.
-Side by side , Semi - Cook the rice by adding the shah jeera , bay leaf , cloves , cardamom and salt to taste
Once rice is semi cooked , strain the water
Add layer by layer prawn masala and rice along with pudina as shown.
Garnish with caramelized onions and coriander. Server hot and enjoy!
