Did You Know Your GPT Chats Are Now Public on Google? Public service announcement. So, you don't have to worry that your ChatGPT chats are being made public without your knowledge or permission (but you likely did NOT know this until now), but you should be aware that if you ever decided (in the past) to use the "Share" feature to create a URL of your ChatGPT chat that you sent to even just one person, your whole chat has now become public. The method is called "Google Dorking". Use this string in your browser: site:chatgpt.com/share Add a keyword at the end like: POS Systems You'll find shared ChatGPT conversations, many of which are filled with step-by-step workflows, process breakdowns, even strategy drafts. These aren't blog posts. They're raw prompt/response threads. They've been shared through ChatGPT. When a user clicks "Share" and generates a public link, that page becomes accessible and could appear in the index. The good side is that it is another avenue to discover how others think about process, strategy, common challenges, etc. But, heads-up, if you share a chat, assume it’s available publicly. If you aren’t comfortable with this and/or sharing goes against your company’s policy, it’s best to stay private.
