Before we start, I wanted to point out that each snare drum is crafted differently. That means that the drum head will react differently according to the build of each drum. This is how these drumheads sound on this Pearl Music City custom snare. The wires and snare side head stayed the same, along with my playing, and microphone placement, and I tensioned the batter drum heads the same using a tension watch. Since we got through the consistent factors, let’s dig into these drum heads! The Ambassador Coated is the most popular drumhead in the world, featuring the perfect combination of warm, open tones with bright attack and controlled sustain. Constructed with 1-ply 10-mil Coated film, Ambassador Coated drumheads are the industry standard for all applications. The Controlled Sound Coated Bottom Black Dot™ features focused midrange tones with added durability.
