Let’s get LIT…urgical 🔥 Margaret Mary Alacoque was born into a prominent family in 1647, but when her father died at age eight, her family's assets were seized by a relative, plunging them into poverty and forcing Margaret Mary and her mother to live as servants in their own home. At fifteen, she became bedridden with a painful illness that lasted four years. Doctors couldn’t help her. In desperation, she promised the Blessed Virgin that if she were healed, she would give her life to God. Soon after, she was miraculously cured. She entered the Visitation convent in Paray-le-Monial at age twenty-four, hoping for peace — but she found misunderstanding instead. Her sisters thought she was emotional, dramatic, or imagining things. Then, in 1673, while praying before the Blessed Sacrament, Jesus appeared to her. He showed her His Sacred Heart — burning with love, crowned with thorns, and wounded by human indifference. He said: “Behold this Heart which has so loved men, that It has spared nothing, even to exhausting and consuming Itself…” He asked her to promote devotion to His Sacred Heart — especially Holy Communion on First Fridays and a Holy Hour of reparation. Few believed her. For years she suffered ridicule and isolation. That changed when St. Claude de la Colombière, a Jesuit priest, was sent to the convent. He recognized the truth of her visions and became her confessor and supporter. Through him, the devotion spread across France — and eventually, the world. Today, her quiet obedience ignited one of the Church’s greatest devotions — the Sacred Heart of Jesus. ❤️‍🔥 ✝️ Apostle of the Sacred Heart 🕊 Patron of reparation and mercy 📖 Promoter of First Fridays and Holy Hour devotion 🔔 Follow for daily liturgical drops that slap harder than midnight Mass coffee 👉 Talmid Studios™: AI-assisted, faith-led, human-crafted. #catholicsaints #catholic #stmargaretmary #sacredheart #liturgicalcalendar
