We just played Stupor Mundi for the very first time, and we’ve got some thoughts! In this board game impressions video, we share our honest take after one full play, from the surprisingly smooth rulebook and smart action selection system, to the tight economy and unique deckbuilding mechanism.
Even though the game looks grand and almost intimidating, it’s actually a thinky euro with clever design and lots of strategic depth. Teaching it is easy, mastering it… not so much!
But not both of us felt the same way, Spyros and I had a few differing opinions, especially when it comes to the market action and flow of play. Was it intuitive? Could some actions have been free? We talk about it all.
This is our first impressions video, not a full review, and we’ll definitely be playing again. You can follow more of our thoughts in written form on Instagram and BoardGameGeek, links below!
