🐸 Amphibians and reptiles, small, medium, and large mammals, bats, and birds in Italian national parks: how can we monitor them without disturbing them? 🔎 As part of the DigitAP project, supported by the @Ministero dell'ambiente e della Sicurezza Energetica with PNRR funds, activities are underway to collect data and information on wildlife in national parks using cutting-edge tools and methodologies that do not disturb the animals. For example, using camera traps equipped with infrared flashes that are invisible to the animals. 🏞️ Protected areas are home to complex and valuable ecosystems. Having scientifically valid data on their fauna allows us to better understand ecological dynamics and manage critical issues, such as the impact of invasive species and climate change, and interactions and conflicts between humans and wildlife. 🇪🇺 Project funded by the European Union - NextGenerationEU @Parco forestale casent
