Elephants have been an inseparable part of the celebrations since the very beginning, symbolizing royalty, strength, and cultural pride. --- 🐘 Role of the Elephants The most iconic event is the Jumboo Savari (Elephant Procession) held on Vijayadashami, the final day of Dasara. The lead elephant carries the Golden Howdah (Ambari), a 750+ kg structure holding the idol of Goddess Chamundeshwari. Other elephants accompany in ceremonial formations, decorated with vibrant headgear, ornaments, and silk coverings. --- 🪷 Selection & Preparation Elephants are brought from various forest camps in Karnataka (like Dubare, Mattigodu, and Balle).
