Today is our marriage anniversary. And I am 40 weeks + 1 day pregnant, standing right at the edge of a miracle. I came to Germany in 2019 for my second master’s degree. My plan was simple and very clear: study because of the free education system, gain some German work experience, move to an English-speaking country, work for a few years, become financially stable, and finally go back to Nagaland so I would never have to face those shitty government jobs. Marriage? Honestly, it was nowhere in my plan. I was so deep into my career that I wasn’t even ready for a relationship. Little did I know… Little did I know that in 2022, I would meet my future husband at the university library. Little did I know that I would one day convince my parents about my partner - a foreigner - with faith, patience, and courage. Little did we know that in 2024, we would get engaged in Nagaland. Little did we know that in 2025, we would get married in Nagaland and Denmark, uniting two cultures and two families. And little did we know that in 2026, we would be expecting a baby our greatest blessing. Every picture from 2022 to 2026 tells a story I never planned, but one that feels more right than anything I ever imagined. Happy 1st marriage anniversary, my love 🤍 Thank you for being my answered prayer, my safe place, and my forever. “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” Proverbs 19:21 God’s plans were always bigger than mine and so much more beautiful.
