Third Sunday of Advent. Joy.
The third candle of Advent symbolizes Joy. It invites us to spread joy in
families, our neighbourhood, workplace and to the world at large. There
are many things like gifts, good food, new clothes, just to name a few,
that bring joy this Christmas season. But that happiness is fleeting and
temporary. The true joy comes from the deep and abiding knowledge
and experience that God loves us infinitely and unconditionally. Let us
experience this joy and share it with others by being grateful, kind and
compassionate, showing understanding, forgiving, helping people in
need, saying good things about others, smiling and so on. ”Shared joy
is a double joy“, says a Swedish proverb. So let us share our joy and be
joyful.
