*Tragic Noida Incident: 27-Year-Old Techie Dies in Drain as Rescue Teams Watch*
In Noida Sector 150, 27-year-old software engineer Yuvraj Mehta's Grand Vitara fell into a 70-foot open drain through a broken wall around 12:20 AM.
He stood on the sinking car for nearly 80 minutes, desperately crying "Papa, save me, I don't want to die" while his father, police, fire brigade, SDRF, and NDRF teams watched from the edge.
Citing dense fog, cold water, and iron rods below as too dangerous, no one entered the water to rescue him.
A delivery boy attempted to save him with a rope but failed.
At around 1:45 AM, Yuvraj's screams stopped. He drowned just metres from his helpless father and officials.
The spot had been reported as dangerous multiple times; authorities acted only after his death by dumping debris there.
Yuvraj, the family's sole earner after losing his mother two years ago, leaves his retired father devastated.
The incident has sparked outrage over delayed response and civic negligence.
