At least 28 people were killed on Sunday in a drone attack on the crowded Al-Safiyah market in the town of Sodari, in the the central Sudanese region of Kordofan.
Rights group Emergency Lawyers said the drones that were used in the attack belonged to the Sudanese army, claims which were later rejected by military officials.
The region of Kordofan lies between the western Darfur area controlled by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the army-controlled capital Khartoum in the east.
It has seen a recent surge in fighting and has become the fiercest front line in the three-year-old war between the paramilitary RSF and the Sudanese army.
