“Confidence isn’t cocky — it’s clarity.”
“Let me tell you why you’re NOT arrogant.”
“Here’s the difference between sounding confident and sounding cocky.”
“People aren’t offended by confidence — they’re inspired by it.”
I’m Dr. Winifred Bragg — physician, author, and creator of The Bragg Factor®.
And today, I’m giving you 3 ways to sound confident — without sounding arrogant.
Let’s get straight to it.
Step 1 — Lead With the Problem, Not the Spotlight
Cocky people start with:
“Look what I did.”
Confident people start with:
“Here’s the challenge we were facing… here’s the solution I helped create.”
That one shift shows leadership — not ego.
Step 2 — State Facts, Not Feelings
Cocky: “I’m the best.”
Confident:
“I helped reduce patient wait times by 30%,”
“I improved customer satisfaction scores,”
“I trained our team to…”
Facts speak louder than bragging ever will.
Step 3 — Add the “Why It Matters” Line
Most people forget this.
Confidence becomes cockiness when it’s all about “you.”
So add:
“…and here’s how it helped the team, the patient, or the organization.”
That’s where confidence becomes value.
Confidence isn’t loud — it’s clear.
And when you learn to communicate your value with clarity, you stand out without ever sounding arrogant.
