The aim of the International Cocoa Initiative (ICI) is "to oversee and sustain efforts to eliminate the worst forms of child lbaour and forced labour in the growing and processing of cocoa beans and their derivative products».

Achieving this objective is possible only through partnership among major stakeholders: governments, global industry, cocoa producers, organized labour and non-governmental organisations.

The ICI works in cocoa producing countries at community level, with local governments and with National Governments. From lessons learned we see to inform the broader international community and change practices in the cocoa sector.
