Dr. Asif Choudhury is a former Interventional Gastroenterologist who spent 20+ years advancing digestive care and supporting underserved communities. As Section Chief of Gastroenterology at Lee Memorial Health System, he led innovation in advanced endoscopy, performing high-volume ERCPs and life-saving procedures. Trained at the Mayo Clinic, SUNY Brooklyn, and in Germany under Prof. Suhendra, Dr. Choudhury combined technical excellence with deep compassion. Known for helping uninsured patients weekly—often free of charge—he also gave health advice at his local mosque and spoke at Bangladeshi cultural events. Now retired from clinical practice, he remains focused on training doctors in rural Bangladesh and promoting preventive wellness. His mission remains unchanged: to offer relief, support, and hope when people need it most.
