I’m Mandy. Grew up in Shanghai, China; Lives in Bay Area California, USA. As a Chinese mom raising a bilingual child, a current Chinese tutor and a former marketing executive. Hai 嗨 Hāi means a casual and modern way to say hello in Chinese, equivalent to saying Nǐ Hǎo 你好.
Hai 海 Hǎi also means Sea Turtle 海龟|龜 Hai3 Gui1, which happens to be my child, Ellie’s favorite animal. Sea Turtle symbolizes patience, wisdom, endurance, and good in Chinese culture.
Hai Chinese provides Chinese learning products and offers extensive special live classes and events to help parents and kids to master the language successfully. Storytime, arts and crafts, book clubs, and magic shows are some of the programs we plan to launch. I hope you will join us for the fun journey!
