Nationally recognized drummer Miguel Jimenez Cruz was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. Currently living in Reno, Nevada, he has enjoyed a varied career as a performer and band leader. Highlights include tours and performances with national and international artists such as Y La Bamba, Satsang, Tim Snider, Cy Leo, Raiders House Band, Mamma Mia, The Latin Grammys, Peter Epstein.
As a performer Miguel has had the honor of receiving multiple accolades with multiple bands. Appearing in NPR’s prestigious Tiny Desk Concerts , KCRW Morning Becomes Eclectic. KEXP Youtube series, The Washington Post, The New York Times and placing on Billboard’s Top 10 Latin Album of the year w/Y La Bamba “Entre Los Dos”.Played festivals such as Electric Forest, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, Reggae Rise Up & many more
When not on the road he leads his own band “Cruz Control” and performs with various artists in the area.
