As you may remember I did investigate the recent BetterHelp (BH) controversy and made a video that was used by many commentary channels to highlight the new controversy.

BH was discussed during the last β€ͺ@H3Podcast‬
I wanted to provide more info and some criticism to Ethan's take and my post was removed from their subreddit by the mod team and when I try to reinstate it, I received no answer, so here are my points:

1 - The scam allegation is a red herring.

Since 2018 a lot happened, here is short a recap:

* BH got in a settlement with the FTC ($7.8 millions) for selling private sensitive data and faking accreditations.

* The CareDash controversy, where a website impersonated therapists to funnel clients to BH and was closed after a social worker association reported them to the FTC.

* BH (or some partners) are allegedly active in doorways which are website created to rank high on google search so when you look for controversies with certain keywords, the first links will instead redirected to BH website (something I uncovered).

Why only talk about the quality of the service when they have actively harmed therapists business by impersonating them, sold private sensitive data, faked accreditations and allegedly manipulated search algorithms to silenced criticism? AND I'm not even touching their awful business practices such has sending cease & desist letters to therapists criticizing them ...

All this new info has been blowing up over the last 6 months. I have been on the forefront of those new breakthroughs and to see Ethan just regurgitate old stuff feels wrong to me, especially since he already had a look at it during the members stream.

2 - A note on the "YouTubers should not have to read all the fine prints"

Sponsorships come mainly from 3 different sources:

Ad agency, in which case it's their responsibility to do so and you shouldn't work with them if they can't guarantee proper vetting.

Creators reaching out to brands, in this case you actively engage and you should do your due diligence.

Brands reaching out to creators, same due diligence required here but I would like to point out that what is common at the moment is brands reaching to micro-influencers who are not educated on the topic and are easily blinded by the opportunity.

I'm just mentioning that because many content creators just shifted the blame of past (or recent) BH controversies to "It's not my fault, it's my manager/ad agency that did not do their job, I'm pretty much a victim too" and that's not a valid excuse.

3 - Regarding the "it's better than nothing" argument.

There are dozens of other online platforms providing online therapy. Ethan may only see BH because they advertise aggressively but I'm sure you can find one that hasn't been in a settlement with the FTC (in case that's not enough of a deterrent in the first place).

Disclaimer: I don't care that Ethan promoted BH once, we (audience and creators alike) learnt a lot from that incident. Mental health is a serious topic, so I believe Ethan should be better educated on this topic, especially since there are victims on both sides (therapists and patients) and it's all documented and readily available. There's more allegations and misconducts regarding BH, I just presented what I think is most relevant.

My main point would be: Why in the first place, would any content creator be allowed to make profit of the mental health of his audience?

My fellow miners,
I'm trying to recreate Deep Rock Galactic in infinite craft (neal.fun/infinite-craft/).
I am so close but I can't find a way to close the loopπŸ˜“
I might make a video out of it.

Hi Everyone πŸ‘‹

First things first, I "rebranded". I just changed my name because DrFive was taken everywhere and I ended up having a different name on each social platform e.g. DrFive5, DrFiv3, etc ... So welcome your new entertainer πŸ₯................ @DrCamille πŸ‘πŸ‘

Back to business (That's not business just part of my spare time ngl)

Let's be honest, last project was a CRITICAL FAILURE. What started as a stupid idea, ended-up taking a big portion of my free time for months. My objective was to ⬆️ UP ⬆️ the production value to the level of top tier WoW content creators, which I believe I did or should I say nailed hard (See for yourself: https://youtu.be/9WZkVkrWdsc). There's voice acting, 3D modeling, custom assets, unique editing, etc. I'm aware the pacing in the early sections may not be matching everyone's capabilities to loosely focus for 2/3 min but that's my style and I believe it doesn't nullify the video quality.
I have been an active member of the WoW community since TBC. From the day I organized transmog contest back when servers had their own fan-made forums during TBC/WOTLK to high-end raiding in the last expansions. Despite my involvement with the community I was not driven by creating online content about WoW but when I started the level 60 killing boars only, I HAD to document my progression and my channel was the perfect platform for it. When the level 1-60 part came out, the reception was quite bad until a major (THE ONE) streamer showed my announcement on stream and went AGAINST his own audience to support the candid stupidity of this challenge which turned around most of the hate into positivity (always appreciated). It's not something I would care about for such work (I was mostly excited about the custom assets I made for streamers and presented at the end of this announcement) but for the 60 to 70 part, instead of a few minutes announcement video, I crafted a 25 min video which is the collection of every skill I learned making video on my free time over the last 6/7/8 years (I lost count). So, when the reception for this last project was TERRIBLE (not that people did or did not like my video but I was called names just for having the audacity to make a video ... yeah it went that low), I realized that this community is not the one I joined back in 2006. Alright, maybe it has always been like this but I was just surrounded by wonderful people and I did not see it? I know it has always been a bit trash but I don't remember the community as a whole shitting on a small content creator for making Machinima for fun in 2008. I have to admit I also never heard of GDKPs until Legion and yet I played more than most of you. I think the cocoon of boomers that protected me throughout the years slowly dissolved over time leaving me expose to the shit show that WoW (and Blizzard) has become.

Let me point out the community feedback I received:
* "greedy" because the video "should" have been 30s long.
* That I'm "milking" my audience to get ad revenue (1.5k sub - 600 views on the video at the moment πŸ€”).
* "a salty c**t" when I stated that it's a whole narrated story and not just a 25 min announcement.
* That I can't edit at all (πŸ€”).

I only received one constructive feedback which I acknowledged (intro too long) that I had to dig by reaching directly to the audience of the content creators I look up to (I tried to get objective criticism, so I did not solicitate IG or IRL friends/mutuals).

I thought the classic community would be the place where I can find back the people I lost over time in retail. TBC classic was awesome, I never had that much fun since ... TBC actually. Friendly players, friendly guilds, nice experience, 10/10, shut up and take my money. But I'm not gonna lie, I saw a shift in WOTLK classic. Maybe it was the server, maybe it was because for the first time ever I was guildless and only doing PUG, maybe the veil of nostalgia finally disappeared, maybe it was seeing all those GDKP polluting the landscape or the imminent fear of the token coming up in WOTLK, nonetheless the pattern of toxicity from retail started to sip through the cracks. I could not put up with the recurrent mysoginy/transphobia/homophobia I casually heard in discord while pugging Nax, not mentioning the childish 20 min fights for a piece of gear that would be used on their 3rd alts. Enough!

So, since last February, I canceled my WoW subscription and I uninstalled BNet (I swear you too 🫡 can free yourself from Bobby's shackles and prevent him from buying a new yacht). I worked over the last months to upgrade my setup and I will start to play all the games that I never did because WoW took too much of my free time. There's some unique stuff, never seen on YouTube before coming up (⛏️&πŸ”¨). You will still see some WoW related shorts until the end of the year since I cleaned my disks and have decided to use all the footage before removing it.

I also made two new channels:

* For various shorts/memes only: youtube.com/@DrCamilleShorts
* For VODs: youtube.com/@DrCamilleVOD

VODs channel is still empty but all live content from now on will be uploaded to this channel instead of staying on the main channel.

That's all, take care 😘

Hi everyone,

In a few weeks, the video on which I spent the most time and effort EVER (so far at least 😊) will drop.
I'm in the editing stage and I still have most voice over to record and polishing to do but the hard part is done.
I prepared for you a few screenshots from parts that are already finished as a little teaser.
It's going to be about my #warcraft challenge. So much time went into this but it was also a wonderful learning experience.
I'll premiere the video and I'll be present so it will be the opportunity for you to interact or do some kind of Q&A.

See you there,

<3

Hi Everyone,

The biggest video I've ever worked on is coming (Soon TM). I finished the script and I did edit some portions as well. I'm trying to secure some interesting things for the video but it will take extra time (not a guaranteed success as well btw) . I'm currently raiding SWP on TBC classic and going on holidays this summer so I'm not sure I'll be able top secure a release before WOTLK classic.

I'm looking forward to show you my latest work.
