‪@DoodleDelightsArt‬ ahhhh I finally finished my piece!! Im so so so sorry its so late, I wasn't sure at first what to draw for this piece, so I was brainstorming ideas a lot and totally forgot about the due date!! Tysm for extending it for me and letting me still enter 🙏🙏 ilysm <3

⚠️DISCUSSIONS OF PHYSICAL/MENTAL ABUSE AHEAD⚠️

As for the piece!! There are actually a few main symbols: 1) the shattered side, 2) the tape over the mouth, and 3) the chains!!

In my story, there's a recurring theme of abuse, which is in a LOT of the character's backstories. I chose Ash as the focal point because he IS the main character and the symbols make the most sense with him.

The shattered glass represents the strain the abuse puts on Ash. Every hit/insult from his dad is like a crack forming, and the longer the abuse went on, the more cracks that formed. It's basically Ash slowly breaking from the weight of the trauma.

The tape over the mouth is a simple message, but it shows how difficult/dangerous it is for abuse victims to speak up about their situation. In Ash's specific case, his dad is the abuser, so it's even more difficult since it's family. Plus, he doesn't want people to judge him or think he's weak, so he feels like he can't speak up about it.

And finally, we have the chains. These symbolize how Ash is "trapped" and can't break free. Since he was a minor during the abuse, there wasn't really anywhere he could go, so he was was "chained down" and stuck.

(There's also a mini symbol, which is the eyes in the glass. They show Ash's social anxiety/feeling like everyone is judging him for the abuse)!!

All in all, this piece was a lot of fun to make and took a lot of thought!! I think the end result could be cleaner and more cohesive, but I'm not mad at it!

New oc drop!

⚠️ This is a separate OC that does NOT exist in the same world as Ash, Audrey, and the others. This design is also subject to change ⚠️

I was inspired by ‪@DoodleDelightsArt‬ and all her circus ocs, so I wanted to make my own!

APPEARANCE: no name yet, but this is a clown OC, he/him. Without makeup/modifiers, he is pale with brown hair. He has a Glasgow smile, which he got from his old manager.

(For those who don't know, a Glasgow smile is an injury where an attacker cuts the corner of someone's mouth/cheek towards their ear. You can google it for more info)

PERSONALITY: very impassive and emotionally reserved. When he's working, he's flamboyant and extroverted, but that's no where near how he really acts. He doesn't like to show feelings because he views them as weak. His old manager cut his face because "you're a clown, you need to act like it and smile more!"

OVERVIEW: he ran away from an abusive home and was kidnapped by a circus manager who forced him to perform in shows and was basically a creep. Manager treated OC like a pet more than a person (having to wear a collar, being locked in a cage, etc). The manager is also the one who cut the glasgow smile if that gives u the vibes.

Eventually, a different manager of a separate circus came and basically "bought" OC to work for HIS circus. There, OC meets a bunch of other circus folk who treat him really well and help with his trauma and whatever. Found family yay.

@TheCreativityPen ‪@Tilted_Teal‬ here are my ocs!! I'm going to add some info about each of them (in order of how they appear) to help with vibes<33 Feel free to pick anyone you'd like to draw!

(And go ahead and change outfits/hairstyles if you'd like, I dont mind!!)

**some of these drawings are very old and are not the best references. They are also high key ugly so pls bear with me lol**

1) Ash (he/him) is an introvert and dating Audrey. He's insecure, anxious, and shy, but has a more extroverted/funny streak when hanging out with his friends. He has tan skin, dark hair, green eyes, and is drawn with a scar on his face as well as scars on his arms :)

2) Audrey (she/her) is an extrovert, she's Ash's gf! She is an ENFP and very bubbly and extroverted, always willing to help others, and super easy to talk to. She's very caring towards her friends and Ash and is a great listener. She has strawberry blonde hair, pale skin, and grey eyes.

3) Max (he/him) is kind of a daredevil haha. He likes to skateboard and has a massive crush on Nisha (they end up dating). He's best friends with Ash, though he is not a great listener but still very kind. He has dark skin, dark hair, and brown eyes.

4) Nisha (she/her) kind of comes off as sassy/bratty. She's very blunt and honest, but underneath that rough exterior is someone who cares very deeply for her friends, particularly Audrey and (later) Max. She has tan skin but also has vitiligo, dark brown hair, and brown eyes.

5) Fynn (he/him) is the older brother to Faye. He is a very insecure and anxious person, but is extremely good at hiding it behind a smile and jokes. He is a big fan of dogs and used to be in a toxic relationship with Madeline. He has pale skin, light brown hair dyed purple, and red eyes

6) Faye (she/her) is the younger sister to Fynn. She's very spunky and capable, and is often sarcastic. Despite being younger, she's very protective of Fynn and she despises Madeline for what she did to him. She is drawn almost identically to Fynn.

7) Madeline (she/her) is a manipulative extrovert. She was once in a very toxic relationship with Fynn and she knows how to get what she wants. She's very beautiful and is a narcissist, not really caring for anyone. She has pale skin with freckles, dark hair, and green eyes.

8) Damian (he/him) is an extrovert and used to be friends with Ash before they had a falling out. He can be very rude and used to be a bully, but had a redemption arc, so sometimes he feels intense guilt about it. He has long blond hair that he ties up, pale skin, and brown eyes.
