If you have a new website, do this trick that gave my client 7000 clicks a month...

When a site is brand new, Google doesn’t know it exists, so it won’t rank it. Before you think about scaling traffic, you need to make sure Google can actually find and understand your website. And that starts with backlinks.

Getting backlinks the traditional way is hard, especially in the beginning. Convincing other site owners to link to you takes time, authority, and relationships you probably don’t have yet. The shortcut is creating profiles in relevant directories. This old school method isn’t about boosting rankings overnight. It’s about giving Google clear signals that your site exists. The advantage is simple: you control the profile and the link.

I’ve put together a Google Doc with the main global directories you should be on, niche specific directories, and a strategy to find hyper targeted directories in your industry.

90% of the keywords the United Nations ranks for do not have the word "united nation" in them, but why are they still under-optimized?..

This might be the most unexpected SEO example you’ll hear today: the United Nations. They actually have an enormous amount of high-quality content and, in many ways, they’re doing SEO very well. But they’re also making a major mistake, internal linking. A lot of their links use empty anchors, which means Google has very little context to understand what the linked pages are about. Anchor text matters because it helps search engines interpret relevance and topic focus, and without it, you’re leaving ranking potential on the table.

Another challenge they face is content cannibalization. When you publish massive amounts of content without clear structure and differentiation, multiple pages can end up competing for the same keywords. Instead of strengthening rankings, they dilute them. This is a common issue for large organizations with great content but no tightly controlled SEO architecture behind it.

So are they still winning? Absolutely. They get around 1.7 million organic visitors per month from ranking for roughly 270,000 keywords. More importantly, 90% of that traffic is non-branded, meaning users aren’t searching for “United Nations” or “UN”, they’re discovering them through topics. That’s real SEO power. Google clearly trusts them too, ranking their pages in about 48% of AI Overviews across their keywords. If you want help building that kind of SEO leverage for your business, check the link in my bio to see my four monthly SEO plans.

This tool can reveal your SEO competitors in 10 seconds… and it’s scary accurate..

Most people think they know who their SEO competitors are. In reality, they’re usually wrong. There’s a simple way to uncover the real competitors ranking for the exact keywords you want, and it takes about 10 seconds if you know where to click.

In Ahrefs, drop in keywords related to your business, you can add thousands. Then click on “By domain.” This is the step almost no one uses. What you’ll see next is powerful: websites ranking for many (or all) of those keywords, how many they rank for, and which pages are doing the work. These are your true SEO competitors, not the ones you assumed.

From there, you can open each domain, see the keywords they rank for, export them, and turn that data into a clear targeting plan.

Everyone is in shock right now. How can a tool be this good and completely free?..

It does something Google Search Console still doesn’t show by default: it automatically adds percentage changes when you compare performance over time. It’s a brand-new Chrome extension, which explains why it doesn’t have many reviews yet, but the value is immediately obvious once you use it.

All you have to do is open a project in Search Console, click compare, and choose a time range, for example the last six months versus the previous six months. Normally, you’d see the raw numbers with no clear sense of growth. Activate the extension and suddenly the percentages appear. One click and the data becomes instantly readable and actionable.

This is where good SEO work really stands out. You can clearly see increases in traffic, quality of traffic, and even CTR. I use this every day because it saves a massive amount of time and makes reporting far more powerful. Now it’s your turn to try it.

How do you scale SEO output without scaling time or budget?..

A client in the Caribbean travel space asked me this after strong SEO results, and at first, the request felt unrealistic. More pages usually mean more research, more planning, and more writing. But instead of changing the plan, I rethought the structure behind it.

The breakthrough came from review pages. People weren’t just searching for “Caribbean resorts”, they were searching for reviews of specific resorts my client already offered. That meant each resort could become its own SEO page. Because the intent and structure were the same, we only needed to do the sub-research once, define the value framework, and then adapt it per resort while keeping every page unique and genuinely useful.

This approach nearly doubled the number of SEO pages we could produce with the same time and strategy. I’ve applied the same method in other industries too, like real estate with city-specific property tax pages. If you’re looking to scale SEO intelligently, not by cutting corners, but by reusing research strategically, there’s usually more opportunity hiding in your keyword data than you think.

Breaking news in SEO: 65% of CEOs are already using automation for link building..

If you’re still doing it manually, you’re falling behind. A massive survey of thousands of CEOs confirms it, automation is no longer optional, it’s a competitive advantage. The good news? You can start using it today.

There are only a few tools on the market that actually allow full link-building automation. Once you create an account, you can choose between semi-automation or full automation. The real game changer isn’t the automation itself, it’s the filters. Since backlinks are purchased automatically, setting strict SEO-quality rules is critical.

You can filter by domain authority, traffic, topical relevance, and more, ensuring you only get backlinks that genuinely add value. Spend time building these filters properly, then choose your target URL, anchor text, and budget.

When your SEO niche is tough to rank for, creating tool pages can completely change the game..

I ran into this with a software client in the inventory space. While doing keyword research, I noticed a clear pattern: people searching for inventory solutions were also actively searching for calculators and tools related to inventory problems.

One keyword in particular made this obvious. Users weren’t looking for a blog post or a product page, they wanted a tool that could calculate a complex inventory-related metric. A competitor was already ranking simply because they had built that tool. So I exported all similar tool-based keywords, had the client validate demand, and then worked with developers to assess which tools were realistically buildable versus overly complex.

We ended up creating multiple tools on unique URLs, each targeting a specific keyword, and they’re now ranking. Some of them drive over 200 clicks per month on their own. If you want to try it yourself, start by filtering keywords that include “calculator,” “tool,” or similar terms, then pair them with a word related to your business.

This formula alone can save you hours when working on local SEO. The idea is simple but powerful..

Identify what a business does, cross-check it with every relevant location, and create unique, value-driven landing pages that target how people actually search. It’s a well-known strategy, but execution is where most people get stuck.

Finding all possible locations at scale is harder than it sounds. ChatGPT tends to cap the list and only returns the most obvious places, and scraping directories quickly turns into a messy, incomplete process. That’s where this approach changes the game by using a Google Sheets setup that systematically generates location-based keyword combinations and checks whether they actually have search volume.

Once you have that data, you can pull thousands of keywords, filter down to the ones with real demand, and build pages confidently. I’ve used this exact method with a past client and watched traffic grow significantly, with many of those location pages becoming top traffic drivers. When done right, this turns local SEO from guesswork into a repeatable system.

If there’s one free SEO tool I recommend to anyone working on a website, it’s Screaming Frog..

You simply enter your site, let it crawl for a few minutes, and it gives you immediate visibility into the technical side of SEO that most people overlook.

You can quickly see whether your URLs are indexable, review all your titles and meta descriptions in bulk, check canonicals, and uncover issues that directly impact how Google sees your site. One of my favorite features is the visualization report, which maps your entire website structure in a clear hierarchy.

If you notice red points in that visual, those pages have problems and are not indexable. And if a page isn’t indexable, it’s not getting into Google. The tool makes these issues impossible to ignore, which is why it’s so powerful. Try it, audit your site, and fix what’s holding you back.

Finally it's here, you can approve Guess Post backlinks before they go live.. Only this tool allows you to do it!

The tool is called Serpzilla, and it’s the biggest backlink marketplace in the world. All you need to do is create an account and head to the guest posts section. From there, you can find real guest post opportunities and identify the best websites to get backlinks from by using filters. For example, you can focus on sites that already get SEO traffic or are highly relevant to your niche. Once you find a site that makes sense, just select it and click buy. It’s that simple.

After that, you add instructions about what you want the article to be about, and the site writes it for you. Normally, the article would just go live with a link to your site. Now, Serpzilla lets you review the article before it’s published to make sure it meets your criteria. This puts the control back in your hands.
